(SportsNetwork.com) - Dominican-born Ubaldo Jimenez arrived in Baltimore with ace credentials, but he's had a hard time putting together numbers to warrant the billing.

He gets another crack at it on Wednesday night at Camden Yards, when the Orioles host the Chicago White Sox to wrap up a three-game series.

Baltimore has managed just five runs of offense with Jimenez on the mound in his last six starts, and the right-hander's average level of run support -- 2.64 runs per game -- is the second-lowest mark in the majors.

He's surrendered two or fewer runs in four of his last five outings, including a one-run allowance across 5 2/3 innings against the New York Yankees on Friday. But the bullpen couldn't hold the lead and the Orioles lost, 5-3.

Also, he's winless at home this season with a 6.38 earned run average, while his road record is 2-3 with a more palatable 2.54 ERA. Jimenez was 1-0 in three starts against the White Sox last season while he pitched with the Cleveland Indians.

Chicago opposes him with right-hander Hector Noesi, who's been uneven across his last three starts while splitting two decisions and compiling a 5.51 ERA.

He was dinged for four runs in seven innings in his last start on Friday, when he got a no-decision in Chicago's 5-4 loss at Minnesota.

In two previous starts against the Orioles -- in 2012, when he pitched with Seattle -- Noesi lost two decisions and was saddled with a bloated 14.21 ERA.

On Tuesday, Alejandro De Aza drove in two runs as the White Sox defeated the Orioles, 4-2.

Alexei Ramirez supplied two hits and two runs scored and Gordon Beckham homered for the White Sox.

Jose Quintana (4-7), who was winless in his last four starts, tossed seven innings of one-run ball, giving up six hits and three walks while fanning eight batters to earn the win.

Steve Pearce homered and Adam Jones contributed two hits for Baltimore.

Starter Miguel Gonzalez (4-5) conceded three runs on nine hits with three walks across five frames in defeat.

Baltimore went 4-3 against Chicago last season.
