The Florida Panthers have locked up impending restricted free agent Nick Bjugstad.

The Panthers signed the 22-year-old to a six-year, $24.6 million contract extension on Tuesday night.

The deal was officially announced on Wednesday.

In 34 games with the Panthers this season, Bjugstad has 13 goals and eight assists.

In 121 career games with Florida since debuting in the 2012-13 season, the Minneapolis native has scored 30 goals and 60 points.

Bjugstad was selected in the first round (19th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
