The wait for Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray to return throwing continues.

On Day 2 of Argos training camp on Monday, the veteran pivot wore sweatpants with no pads and just practiced handoffs.

Ray underwent off-season surgery in November to repair a torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder.

While Toronto waits for Ray to be ready for game action, Trevor Harris will most likely be the starting quarterback.

Head coach Scott Milanovich says the starting job is Harris’s to lose. According to TSN’s Matthew Scianitti, after Harris missed a few throws Monday during camp, the coach walked up to Harris and said “"Trevor, you haven't won this job, yet."

The candidates vying for the backup QB role include Mitchell Gale, Logan Kilgore and former Alabama Crimson Tide Blake Sims.

Sims reportedly looked poor in practice, dropping four snaps.

Milanovich appears to be fan of Kilgore though, as he praised the quarterback from Middle Tennessee State who has yet to play in a CFL game in his career.

"He reminds me of [Collaros]," Milanovich said. "Maybe he doesn't look good in practice, but in a game I feel he'll shine."

Canada running back Anthony Coombs and Canadian receiver Natey Adjei also looked good in practice Monday.
