The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired shortstop Jimmy Rollins from the Philadelphia Philles, according to Ken Rosenthal.

It is unknown at this time what the Phillies have received in return.

A three-time all-star, the 2007 National League Most Valuable Player had spent his entire 15-year career with the Phillies. He waived his no-trade clause for the deal.

The 36-year-old was originally selected in the second round of the 1996 Draft by Philadelphia.

He helped lead the Phillies to victory in the 2008 World Series, the franchise's second in its history. Philadelphia returned to the World Series the next season but lost in six games to the New York Yankees.

The Dodgers had lost shortstop Hanley Ramirez in free agency to the Boston Red Sox.

Rollins is owed $11 million this season, the final year of a four-year, $44 million contract extension he signed in 2012.

The four-time Gold Glove winner is the Phillies all-time hits leader with 2306. He has a lifetime batting average of .267 with 216 home runs and 887 RBIs.
