If Manchester United is to qualify for next season's Champions League, they'll have to do so without their leading scorer.

Sky Italia's Gianluca DiMarzio reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic tore his ACL and PCL during Thursday's 2-1 Europa League victory over Anderlecht.

The injury occurred in the final minutes of regular time in the second leg of the quarterfinal. Marcus Rashford's extra-time goal helped United advance to the semis where they'll meet La Liga's Celta Vigo.

Ibrahimovic, 35, has 28 goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho's side this season (including 17 in the Premier League), his first in England. United's second-leading scorer is Juan Mata, who is also out for the season, with 10.

The former Swedish international is out of contract at season's end, meaning that he could have already played his last match for the Red Devils. Coming over from Paris St-Germain on a free transfer last summer, Ibrahimovic has also spent time with Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona and Milan.

United currently sits fifth in the EPL table, four points adrift of Manchester City in fourth for the final Champions League place and six behind Liverpool in third. The team has a game in hand on City and two on Liverpool.

The Red Devils are next in action on Sunday when they visit Burnley at Turf Moor.
