Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball's season is reportedly over.

Shams Charania of the Athletic and Stadium reports that Ball, who has been sidelined since spraining his left ankle on Jan. 20, was re-evaluated today by doctors and a decision has been made by all parties involved to have Ball be shut down for the rest of the season.

The second-year man has averaged 9.9 points per game, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists this season for the 30-35 Lakers, who are currently 6.5 games out of the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The news regarding Ball's injury is just the latest setback this season for the LeBron James-led Lakers. The team announced earlier in the day that it was shutting down forward Brandon Ingram for the rest of the season because of an arm injury, and head coach Luke Walton told the media on Friday that James, who missed 17 games because of a groin injury, will have his minutes closely monitored from here on out.
