While rumours continue to swirl around Manny Machado, the All-Star shortstop isn't the only member of the Baltimore Orioles attracting interest.

Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports that the Phillies have spoken to the O's about lefty closer Zach Britton.

Britton, 30, missed the first two-and-a-half months of the season recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon incurred during the off-season.

The native of Panorama City, Calif., has made 13 appearances for the O's this season, posting a 1-0 record with a 4.26 earned-run average and a WHIP of 1.342 over 12.2 innings pitched.

A two-time All-Star, Britton had a combined 120 saves from 2014 to 2016 with injuries limiting his playing time over the past two seasons.

Britton is a free agent at season's end.

The Phillies have been using Seranthony Dominguez as their closer, but Salisbury notes that the acquisition of a veteran stopper would allow manager Gabe Kapler to move Dominguez into an eighth-inning role.
