Edmonton Oilers forward Milan Lucic suffered a lower-body injury and is currently in a cast according to TSN’s Ryan Rishaug. He is not expected to miss any time next season with the ailment.

Rishaug reports the injury happened off the ice after practice a day before their season-finale against the Calgary Flames. Lucic did not play in that game, which Edmonton went on to win 3-1.

He will remain in a cast for two more weeks and the injury will not affect his regular summer training schedule. Rishaug adds Lucic is expected to be 100 per cent for training camp.

In 79 games this season, Lucic had six goals and 14 assists. It was his third season in Edmonton after signing a seven-year deal as an unrestricted free agent in July of 2016.

Lucic is due $6 million per season for the next four years.
