The Florida Panthers continue to be active in the days leading up to the NHL's Monday trade deadline.

The Buffalo Sabres are trading defenceman Robert Hagg to the Panthers in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2022, it was announced Sunday.

The 27-year-old has one goal and seven assists in 48 games so far this season for the Sabres, his first in Buffalo after coming over from the Philadelphia Flyers in a deal involving Rasmus Ristolainen this past summer.

Hagg is set to become a free agent after the season and carries a $1.6 million cap hit for 2021-22.

A native of Uppsala, Sweden, Hagg was selected in the second round (No. 41 overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Flyers and went on to play parts of five seasons in Philadelphia before joining the Sabres.

“Robert is a tireless competitor and a physical defenseman who will add depth to our blueline,” said Panthers general manager Bill Zito in a news release.
