(SportsNetwork.com) - The rubber match of a weekend set at Comerica Park is on tap for Sunday afternoon, as the first-place Detroit Tigers play host to the Minnesota Twins.

Ricky Nolasco will take the hill for the Twins. Nolasco's first season in the American League has not gone well, as he sits with a 4-5 record and a 5.70 ERA while opposing batters hit .312 against him.

Nolasco was knocked around in his latest outing, scattering seven hits and four earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision versus Toronto on June 9.

The 31-year-old veteran has pitched especially poorly on the road this season, surrendering 36 runs in 44 innings (7.36 ERA).

For Detroit, Rick Porcello gets the call. Porcello has earned a decision in each of his 12 starts, going 8-4 with 4.04 ERA.

After stringing together a streak of six straight wins from mid-April to mid- May, Porcello has slipped up of late with losses in three of four. He most recently allowed nine hits and six runs (five earned) in a June 9 setback to the White Sox.

Porcello earned win against the Twins on April 25, although he was far from impressive, yielding four earned runs in five innings of work.

Detroit evened the series in high-scoring fashion on Saturday afternoon, capturing a 12-9 victory.

The Tigers exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the third and led 11-1 heading into the seventh before the Twins added eight runs over the final three innings to make the final score close.

Seven players finished with double-digit hits for the Tigers, who collected 19 on the afternoon. Ian Kinsler (3-for-5, three RBI, SB), Torii Hunter (2-for-4, two RBI), Victor Martinez (3-for-5, HR, two RBI) and Eugenio Suarez (3-for-4, HR, two RBI) all shined in the slugfest.

"I didn't know I was ready to have a game like that," said Suarez, who fell a double short of the cycle and is batting .400 with three homers in eight games since getting called up from Triple-A... "It was great to have the chance at the cycle, even if I didn't get it."

Martinez's homer was his 17th of the season, while Miguel Cabrera plated his 55th RBI, tying Baltimore's Nelson Cruz for the American League lead.

Anibal Sanchez (3-2) enjoyed the ample run support to earn his first win in the past four starts, scattering four hits and three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings while striking out six.

Samuel Deduno (2-5) was lit up, lasting just 2 2/3 innings while surrendering seven hits and seven earned runs. He's given up 12 runs over the course of his last two starts.

The Twins piled on runs late with the game out of hand. Brian Dozier blasted his 15th home run, a two-run shot, Danny Santana had two hits and three RBI and Eric Fryer finished 3-for-5.

Detroit was 11-8 in this series a year ago.
