VICTORIA — Jaydon Dureau completed his first career hat trick by scoring 1:15 into overtime to lift the Portland Winterhawks past the Victoria Royals 6-5 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday.

The victory extended the Winterhawks point streak to 15 games (13-0-2).

Seth Jarvis scored the game-tying goal on the power play for Portland with 3:32 remaining in regulation. He also matched a career-high with three assists on the night.

Jake Gricius and Jack O'Brien were the other goal scorers for the Winterhawks (29-6-5).

Keanu Derungs and Kaid Oliver each replied with a pair of goals for Victoria (23-13-3), while Carson Miller was credited with the Royals' other marker.

Winterhawks netminder Joel Hofer, who recently helped Canada win gold at the world junior hockey championship, made 26 saves.

Adam Evanoff turned aside 40-of-46 shots in defeat.

Victoria made the most of their power plays by converting on 3-of-4 opportunities, while Portland went just 1 for 5 with the man advantage.

Chyzowski now leads the WHL with 12 power-play goals this season.
