(SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Young tries to pitch the Seattle Mariners to a three-game sweep of the Houston Astros on Wednesday at Minute Maid Park.

Young, who was shut down last summer to correct thoracic outlet syndrome, has been terrific of late for the Mariners, going 2-0 over his last three starts, while allowing just two runs over 18 innings in that span. He earned the win on Friday against Cleveland, surrendering a run and four hits in five innings to run his record to 7-4 on the year to go along with a 3.15 ERA.

"I thought his stuff was as good as it's been all year," Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon said. "He had some good changeups, a good fastball. That's a team that won 90 games last year. That's a veteran club and they know how to grind at-bats out. They just got his pitch count up."

Young's roll could continue on Wednesday, as he is a perfect 3-0 in four starts versus the Astros with a 3.28 ERA.

Seattle's offense exploded on Tuesday, as Kyle Seager homered and drove in three runs to lead the Mariners to a 13-2 win. Robinson Cano also brought in three runs and James Jones supplied three hits, three runs scored and two RBI for the Mariners, who have won three straight and nine of their last 11.

"We won the game. I don't care if we win it by one or two runs, it really doesn't make a difference," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said.

Starter Hisashi Iwakuma (6-4) surrendered just one run on seven hits with no walks and seven strikeouts to notch the win.

Matt Dominguez and Enrique Hernandez each drove in a run for Houston, which has lost three of its last four.

Jarred Cosart (8-6), who entered the game with four straight wins, was reached for six runs on nine hits and four walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Getting the call for the Astros on righty Brad Peacock, who is 2-4 with a 4.21 ERA. Peacock hasn't received a decision his last three times out, but has pitched well, pitching to a 2.16 ERA. Against Detroit on Friday he gave up one earned run and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings of his team's 4-3 win.

Peacock has faced the Mariners five times and is 2-2 with a 6.92 ERA.

Seattle has won seven of its 12 matchups with the Astros this season.
