The Toronto Raptors announced on Tuesday that they have waived forward Alfonzo McKinnie. He played 14 games with the Raptors last season, averaging 1.5 points, 0.5 rebounds in 3.8 minutes of playing time.

McKinnie also appeared in 35 games for the Raptors 905, average 14 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

The Chicago, Illinois native originally signed as a free agent with the Raptors in July 2017.

His salary for next season ($1.4M) would have become fully guaranteed on Wednesday. By waiving McKinnie ahead of that deadline he's completely off the team's books.

The Raptors still have 12 players under contract for next season, costing them roughly $134.7 million, which would put them $11 million into the luxury tax. They can bring up to 20 to training camp and need at least 14, but no more than 15, on the opening night roster.
