The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Texas Rangers 6-3 on Wednesday to advance to ALCS with a 3-2 series score. Jose Bautista delivered a three-run home run in the seventh inning as the Jays completed their comeback from a 2-0 series deficit.

The Blue Jays played the game under protest after a controversial call allowed Rougned Odor to score in the top of the seventh inning. Russell Martin's throw back to pitcher Aaron Sanchez after the 2-2 pitch hit Shin-Soo Choo on the hand, allowing Odor to come in to score. However, the umpire signaled the play dead before Odor reached home. The ruling on the field was then overturned, then reviewed and held up, at which point Jays manager John Gibbons declared the game under protest.

The Blue Jays loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning thanks to errors by the Rangers. After Kevin Pillar scored to tie the game, Bautista hit the go-ahead home run, complete with a bat flip.

Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman threw 98 pitches, allowing two runs - both earned - on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk in six innings of work. Aaron Sanchez relieved him, allowing one unearned run and two hits in 1 1/3 innings of work. Roberto Osuna entered with one out in the eighth and closed out the game for the Blue Jays.
