FIVE QUICK HOOPS THOUGHTS:

1. TYLER HANSBROUGH: As always, he played with great energy on Sunday night against the Kings. Have been impressed with his improved shooting stroke and in a league that emphasizes the 'Stretch 4' he's added a little face-up game to his hard-nosed style. Lots of off-season work put in by him and it shows.

2. GREIVIS VASQUEZ: Eight assists and zero turnovers against the Kings. I love how hard he plays and the energy and passion he brings to the table. He and Lou Williams looked good in the closing quarter. I said it last week and I'll say it again - that's a legit second unit backcourt.

3. JAMES JOHNSON: Played really hard defensively both at the 3 and 4 spots. His length, athleticism and strength really helps this team. An ideal fit when you need to defend a problematic matchup. Will be quite valuable in defensive schemes.

4. DEMAR DEROZAN: This guy is in regular season shape already. The Team USA experience looks like it's really helped his confidence. He knows where he wants to go and how to get there. Loves the fact that he's finally on a winning team and the respect is rightfully coming his way.

5. VANCOUVER: Wow. Awesome experience on Sunday night at the arena. Wonderful week there. Put their best foot forward. Not sure if the League was watching but I hope they were. This town should have a team again. At the very least, it's pretty remarkable to see how the Raptors have grown as a national team. Fun to experience it all.
