Talbot, 31, has scored five goals and 10 assists in 63 games with the Avalanche this season.

He has one year remaining beyond this season worth an average annual value of $1.75 million.

In 648 career games with the Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers, Talbot has scored 89 goals and 105 assists. The Penguins originally selected Talbot in the eighth round (234th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

He was a member of the Penguins’ 2009 Stanley Cup Championship team.

Caron has no points through 11 games with the Bruins this season.
