The incident occurred late in Game 2 when Calvert crossed-checked Kuhnhackl in the upper-back/shoulder, breaking his own stick in the process. Calvert then pushed Kuhnhackl down to the ice while he was recovering from the cross-check. The Jackets winger received a two-minute penalty for cross-checking.
The Pens went on to win the game 4-1 to take a 2-0 lead in the first-round series.
"There were a lot of emotions out there," Kuhnhackl said Saturday of the hit. "That was Game 2. Now we're going to focus on Game 3."
Calvert, who will miss Game 3 on Sunday in Columbus, was not made available to the media on Saturday.
Calvert, 27, scored 10 goals and added five assists over 65 games in 2016-17 while the 25-year-old Kuhnhackl had four goals and 12 helpers over 57 games.
