While it doesn't appear to be as serious as first feared, there is still some conflicting reports as to just how serious New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's injury is.
After tweeting the Pro Bowler's injured leg doesn't appear to be too serious, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported later Monday that Gronkowski is expected to miss multiple weeks.
That report conflicts with NFL.com's Ian Rapoport's, who said Gronkowski could be back as early as next week.
The 26-year-old was hit in the fourth quarter by Denver Broncos defensive back Darian Stewart and had his leg whip back. Gronkowski rolled around the ground in what looked like extreme pain before he was carted off the field. The team almost immediately announced he would not return to action and the Pats would eventually lose in overtime, ending their chance at an undefeated season.
Gronkowski was seen walking under his own power following his exit from the game.
He has caught 57 passes for 931 yards and nine touchdowns over 11 games this season.
New England will host the Philadelphia Eagles next weekend at Gillette Stadium.
