The Edmonton Eskimos have re-signed international running back John White through the 2018 season, which will be his sixth with the club.

White is among the league's best running backs when healthy, but has only played in 17 games the past three seasons. The 26-year-old missed all but two games last year with a torn ACL. He had 20 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown before the injury.

In 41 career CFL games with the Eskimos - White missed all of 2015 with a ruptured Achilles tendon - the University of Utah product has 376 carries for 2,110 yards and 12 touchdowns. White's added an extra 736 yards and four touchdowns through the air on 84 career receptions.
