Derek Jeter is getting ‘The Last Dance’ treatment with a multi-part series on ESPN.

Scheduled to debut in 2022, The Captain will tell the story of the Hall of Famer’s journey to the MLB, his 20-year career with the New York Yankees and life as a father and business owner.

Three time Emmy-winning director Randy Wilkins will be giving viewers a front row seat to Jeter’s professional and personal highs and lows while exploring themes of race, family, community and rivalries.

“This series is not going to be a baseball highlight reel,” says Wilkins. “This will be a robust story that extends beyond the field.”

Spike Lee and Mike Tollin (part of the The Last Dance team!) are on board as executive producers. The Players Tribune and MLB will also help bring this series to life.
