ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Sean Collins scored 3:30 into overtime as the Springfield Falcons edged the St. John's IceCaps 4-3 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Hubert Labrie scored once and set up two more for the Falcons (38-28-10) while Mike Hoeffel and Trent Vogelhuber added the others.

Austen Brassard, on a penalty shot, Jason Jaffray and Chase Balisy supplied the offence for the IceCaps (32-33-11).

Springfield's Scott Munroe made 17 saves for the win as Peter Budaj kicked out 30-of-34 shots for St. John's.

The Falcons went 0 for 2 on the power play while the IceCaps scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

This was the last game of the season for St. John's after failing to qualify for the AHL playoffs.
