EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned forward Ryan Kelly to their D-League affiliate.

The Lakers sent Kelly to the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Friday before they departed on an East Coast road trip.

Kelly started the Lakers' last four games, but scored just 13 points on 3-for-13 shooting. The second-year pro from Duke had just three points in 21 minutes during Los Angeles' 123-118 double-overtime victory over Chicago on Thursday night.

Kelly missed all but three games in the first two months of the season with hamstring injuries. He is averaging 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds this season.

Kelly is expected to play for the D-Fenders on Friday night against Bakersfield.
