According to Tampa Tribune reporter Erik Erlendsson, Callahan reported pain and discomfort late on Monday afternoon and was sent to Tampa General Hospital. He was tested and found to have acute appendicitis and was immediately admitted for an appendectomy. He went in to surgery at around 9pm et and got out shortly after 10pm.
