Ahead of Major League Baseball's 2014 Winter Meetings beginning on Dec. 7, the league's 30 general managers are in the midst of off-season renovations. TSN.ca looks at the day's hottest rumours as free agent season is in full swing.
What to do, what to do...
Outfielder Torii Hunter remains undecided on how to approach free agency. The 39-year-old has spent the last two seasons with the Detroit Tigers.
"I've been a free agent three times and this is by far the toughest decision. Do I go with my heart or my desires? That's the question I'm fighting," said Hunter to FOX's Ken Rosenthal.
Hunter has spent his 18-year career with the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Angels and the Tigers.
Along with retirement, Hunter is reportedly weighing his options that are said to include the Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays and a possible reunion with the Twins.
Seattle Wants an Outfielder
The Seattle Mariners have had trade talks with multiple teams about acquiring a big-name right-handed outfielder.
According to Jon Morosi, the Mariners have been in touch regarding Matt Kemp, Yoenis Cespedes and Justin Upton.
Boston has reportedly been interested in Seattle's Hisashi Iwakuma before, although it is unclear if the Mariners would trade him for Cespedes.
Sandoval Chose Boston
Jon Heyman is reporting that third baseman Pablo Sandoval chose to sign with the Boston Red Sox even though the offers from the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres were worth more money.
No figures of those offers have been revealed, but they are said to have been more than the $95 million over five years that Sandoval signed with the Red Sox.
Looking for an OF
The Texas Rangers are reportedly interested in acquiring an outfielder and have checked in with the Mariners about Michael Saunders, according to Jerry Crasnick.
Saunders has spent his entire six seasons with Seattle, and batted .273 with eight home runs and 34 RBI in 78 games last season.
