The Major League Soccer season will start on time after the league and the MLS Players Union reached a deal on a new collective bargaining agreement on Wednesday.

The deal is expected to be for five-years and create free-agency for players 28-years-old or older that have been in the league for at least eight years.  There will also be a cap on the amount a player's salary can increase through free-agency depending on the value of his previous deal.

The minimum salary will be $60,000 and the overall league-wide cap will also increase.

The Los Angeles Galaxy and Chicago Fire are scheduled to kick-off the 2015 season on Friday night at StubHub Center, but that game and the rest of the opening weekend were put in doubt as the CBA negotiations continued.
