If you were worried about the lack of excitement in NFL prime time games so far this season, Monday Night Football gave you plenty to talk about.

We got four touchdowns by Travis Kelce, two touchdowns by Davante Adams, one of the most egregious roughing the passer penalty calls you’ll ever see, Josh McDaniels decision to go for two, and more on the same night.

Meanwhile, just in case you missed it, Patrick Mahomes continued to absolutely dominate AFC West opponents.

Last night, he managed to do just enough to get another key division victory.

Mahomes threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns, with 28 rushing yards in a 30-29 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.

Kansas City’s MVP improved to 8-1 straight up all-time against the Raiders and 23-3 SU against AFC West opponents.

Meanwhile, the FanDuel Best Bet that I gave out in Monday’s column cashed again, as Marquez Valdes-Scantling soared over 40.5 receiving yards with six catches for 90 yards on eight targets.

We’ll need to wait at least a couple of days before cashing another bet for an NFL prime time game.

In the meantime, we get four LDS games and two NHL regular season games to bet on tonight.

Here’s the Morning Coffee for Tuesday October 11th, 2022.

Mahomes Wins, Carr Covers In Thrilling Monday Night Football Showcase

The Chiefs rallied from down 17-0 to beat Las Vegas 30-29 on Monday Night Football thanks in large part to four touchdowns from Travis Kelce.

While favourites went 10-5 straight up with one pick’em, NFL underdogs went a combined 10-5 against the spread, with the Raiders covering as seven-point dogs at FanDuel last night.

NFL underdogs have gone an impressive 45-30-3 against the spread this season.

Meanwhile, division underdogs went a combined 6-0 against the spread in Week 5.

Now we turn the page to Week 6, with several intriguing match-ups on deck.

None of them will be bigger than Kansas City’s date with the Buffalo Bills in a battle between the top two choices to win the Super Bowl.

Buffalo remains the Super Bowl favourite at FanDuel at +400.

The Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles come in tied for the second-shortest odds to win it all at FanDuel this morning at +650.

As of this morning, the Bills are listed as a 2.5-point favourite on the road at FanDuel.

MLB Playoffs Continue This Afternoon

The LDS gets underway this afternoon beginning with one of three match-ups between division opponents, as the Atlanta Braves host the Philadelphia Phillies.

Atlanta is currently the third choice to win the World Series at FanDuel at +460.

FanDuel has the Braves as a -198 money line favourite for Game 1 with Max Fried set to get the start for Atlanta opposite Ranger Suarez for Philadelphia.

The Houston Astros are a -230 money line favourite for their opener against the division rival Seattle Mariners.

Later tonight, the Los Angeles Dodgers will host the San Diego Padres as a -220 money line favourite for Game 1 in another divisional showdown.

Los Angeles finished with a run differential of +324 in the regular season, which was 289 runs better than the Padres at +45.

The Dodgers remain the World Series favourite at FanDuel at +270.

The Astros are the second choice at +350.

Houston is chasing a sixth straight trip to the ALCS.

The New York Yankees, which are currently the fourth choice to win it all at FanDuel at +490, host the Cleveland Guardians in the opener of their ALDS later today as a -215 money line favourite.

Aaron Judge is +280 to hit a home run in the opener and +2700 to hit two home runs.

Judge to hit a home run and New York to win Game 1 is +335 at FanDuel.

The Yankees have gone 12 straight seasons without reaching the World Series, which is the third-longest drought in franchise history.

NHL Regular Season Set To Ramp Up

After a couple of games overseas to begin the regular season, the NHL schedule continues with a double-header tonight.

First up, the top two choices to win the Vezina Trophy will go head-to-head as Igor Shesterkin and the New York Rangers host Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

New York is a -122 money line favourite.

Later on, the Los Angeles Kings and Las Vegas Golden Knights go head-to-head in a Pacific Division showdown.

FanDuel has the Kings as a -114 money line favourite.

After a pair of games tonight, the NHL will roll out six games on Wednesday, followed by 10 games on Thursday.

In case you missed it, FanDuel just debuted a First To 5 Market in which you can bet on which team in each game will be the first to five shots.

With a ton of games on deck, I’m looking forward to giving it a shot and seeing if we can find an edge in the market.
