Pittsburgh, PA  - Pittsburgh Penguins forward Beau Bennett will likely be sidelined for the first month of the regular season because of a lower body injury.

Bennett was hurt during practice Friday and Penguins coach Mike Johnston updated the 22-year-old's status Saturday.

"Beau is going to be (out) six weeks, it looks like," Johnston said prior to the team's preseason game against Columbus. "It's one of those unfortunate things. It's a lower body injury."

Bennett was coming off wrist surgery performed in May. He had three goals and four assists for seven points in 21 games last season for the Penguins, then added a goal and four assists in 12 playoff games.
