Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington and Buffalo Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin have been announced as the finalists for the Calder Trophy as the NHL's best rookie.

Pettersson led all NHL rookies in goals (28), assists (38) and points (66) in 71 games in 2018-19. He also led the Canucks in all three categories this season and broke Pavel Bure's franchise rookie scoring record.

Binnington, a third-round pick of the Blues in 2011, backstopped the Blues to a playoff spot after being dead-last in January with a 24-5-1 record and a .927 save percentage (fourth among all goalies) and a 1.89 GAA (first in the NHL) in 32 games.

The first overall pick in the 2018 NHL draft, Dahlin was the third-leading point-getter among rookies with 44 points ( nine goals, 35 assists) in 82 games.
