The WNBA announced an expansion to Toronto in 2026. This reminded me of 1993 when the NBA opened the doors to Canada as the Raptors and Grizzlies began play in October 1995. A new era in Canadian sports had arrived. From the unveiling of the name, logo and colors 30 years ago yesterday, from Stoudamire to Vince Carter, to the early start at the Skydome, years of ineptitude and finally an NBA title in 2019, lots of ups and down for this franchise. Let’s go back in time and look at this moment in time.
