The New York Rangers will be without defenceman Dan Boyle for the next four to six weeks with a broken hand.

Head coach Alain Vigneault made the announcement after the Rangers' 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues Thursday night.

Boyle broke his hand when he blocked a Jori Lehtera shot in the third period.

The 38-year-old was signed by the Rangers in the off-season as an unrestricted free-agent.
