A busy day for the Phoenix Suns continued with a deal sending point guard Isaiah Thomas to the Boston Celtics, reports ESPN's Chris Forsberg.

In exchange, the Suns receive shooting guard Marcus Thornton and the Cleveland Cavaliers' first-round pick in 2016.

Thomas, 26, was in his first year in the desert after signing a four-year, $27 million deal with the Suns in the offseason.

In 46 games with the Suns, Thomas averaged 15.2 points per game to go along with 3.7 assists and a .391 three-point percentage in 25.7 minutes a night, down from the 34. 7 minutes he averaged in his final year with the Sacramento Kings last season.

Thornton, a seven-year veteran, was in his first year with the Celtics. In 39 games off of the bench, Thornton averaged 8.9 points and just under an assist per game in 16.4 minutes a night.

The Suns revamped their roster earlier in the day in deals that sent Goran Dragic to the Miami Heat and Miles Plumlee and Tyler Ennis to the Milwaukee Bucks. In exchange, the Suns received Danny Granger, Justin Hamilton and a pair of first-round picks from the Heat, as well as Brandon Knight from the Bucks.

The Celtics made another minor deal before the deadline, according to ESPN's Mark Stein, sending veteran swingman Tayshaun Prince to the Detroit Piston for Jonas Jerebko and Luigi Datome.
