Cleveland has acquired reliever Nick Wittgren from the Miami Marlins in exchange for a minor league pitcher, according to a report by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Wittgren made 32 appearances last season for the Marlins and posted a 2.94 ERA over 33.2 innings with 31 strikeouts and 15 walks.

The 27-year-old was drafted in the ninth round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Marlins and made his MLB debut in 2016; he appeared in 48 games that season.

Wittgren was designated for assignment by the Marlins last Tuesday to make room for Neil Walker on the roster.
