Former Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields is looking to return to the NFL after a year off, according to a report from ESPN.

ESPN reports Shields is looking to resume his NFL career after taking a year off following his release from the Packers last February. The 30-year-old will start visiting teams this week, ESPN added.

Prior to his year off, Shields battled concussion troubles, playing in only one game in 2016. The Miami (Florida) product was at one point one of the top cover corners in the league however. Shields has 211 tackles and 18 interceptions in 80 career games (62 starts) in the NFL, all with the Packers.
