Gio Gonzalez is headed back to Wisconsin.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reports the veteran hurler has signed a one-year, $2 million deal to return to the Milwaukee Brewers.

The agreement also comes with a potential $2 million in bonuses. Gonzalez, 33, was acquired by the Brewers at last season's deadline from the Washington Nationals and went 3-0 with a 2.13 earned run average and 0.947 WHIP over 25.1 innings pitched in five starts. He also made two postseason appearances for the team.

The Hialeah, FL native was let out of his minor-league deal with the New York Yankees earlier this week.

A two-time All-Star, Gonzalez heads into his 12th big-league season.

He has a career mark of 127-97 with an ERA of 3.69 and a WHIP 1.316 in 313 games with the Oakland Athletics, Nationals and Brewers.
