Sources tell Jon Heyman of MLB Network that the Toronto Blue Jays are closing in on a deal with free agent pitcher Gavin Floyd.

The 33-year-old right-handed starter missed most of the last three seasons due to injury and has bounced from the White Sox to the Braves to the Indians since 2013.

Last year he had surgery to fix a fractured bone in his right elbow during spring training and was eventually limited to just 13.1 innings pitched in seven appearances for Cleveland.

Since debuting with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2004, Floyd has compiled a record of 72-72 with an ERA of 4.38 and a WHIP of 1.33. His best season was 2008 with the White Sox when he went 17-8 in 33 starts.
