Two-time All-Pro Jamaal Charles is calling time on his NFL career.

The 32-year-old running back is expected to sign a one-day contract with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday and formally announce his retirement, according to 610 Sports in Kansas City.

The native of Port Arthur, TX spent 11 seasons in the NFL with the first nine coming with the Chiefs.

Originally taken with a third-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Texas, Charles rushed for 1,000-plus yards on five occasions and led the league in rushing touchdowns in 2013 with 12.

His best season came in that 2013 season when he rushed for 1,287 yards on 259 carries and added 693 yards receiving on 70 catches with seven TDs.

Charles finishes his career with 7,563 yards rushing in 119 games with the Chiefs, Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars with whom he played two games last season. 

He is 56th all-time in rushing and his 5.4 yards per carry is the best mark in NFL history.
