Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk said Tuesday he holds no grudge towards Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog and, in fact, he didn't even want to see him suspended.

Landeskog picked up a four-game suspension on Monday for cross-checking Tkachuk during Saturday's game between the two teams. Landeskog’s first cross-check caught the Flames winger in the body, while his second hit him in the face.

"You never want to see guys get suspended," Tkachuk said Tuesday. "It was a play around the net and I was trying to get the puck loose. It's a hockey play first but when he gave me that extra one, I think that's the one the league wasn't too happy with.

"But you move on. And I'm not worried about it today or anything."

Landeskog said he apologized to Tkachuk one shift after the play. He faced stiffer punishment from the league's Department of Player Safety as a repeat offender. The 25-year-old picked up a three-game suspension in March 2016 for cross-checking Simon Despres in the head.

Tkachuk is no stranger to George Parros' department, having picked up a one-game suspension earlier this month for unsportsmanlike conduct. He was also suspended for two games in March of 2016 for an elbow to the face of Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty.
