Top college free agent defenceman Daniel Brickley of Minnesota State has signed with the Los Angeles Kings

The Kings confirmed the signing on Thursday and said the 22-year-old will be introduced at a press conference on Friday.

Brickley is eligible to sign a two-year, entry-level contract, although if he plays an NHL regular season game this season, he will burn the first year of his contract.

He is not eligible to play in the Stanley Cup playoffs this season. In 40 games at Minnesota State, Brickley has 10 goals and 25 assists.

Brickley played for Team USA at the 2017 world hockey championship, failing to record a point in five games.
