Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine announce plans to open a high school with a new innovative school curriculum with the goal to motivate students to want to continue their education.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Dr. Dre said, "this is for kids who want to go out and start their own company or go work at a place… like Marvel, or Apple or companies like that.”

The high school was approved by the L.A. Board of Education and is expected to open in the Fall of 2022 in an area of L.A. that is “a longtime Black cultural hub... where many Black and Latino students have struggled with low achievement.”

The two already have experience with the education system at the college level and now they want to do the same thing at the public school level in hopes of targeting the younger generation "where it's most needed - and it's most difficult."
