Hockey Canada is expected to announce on Monday that St. Louis Blues president and general manager Doug Armstrong will oversee Canada's entry at next year's World Cup of Hockey.
According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, Armstrong will be in charge of the management group and hockey operations for the squad.
Armstrong has served as part of Team Canada management groups several times, most recently as part of the gold medal-winning team at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
The eight-team World Cup will take place in Toronto over two weeks in September, 2016. Canada will compete against the United States, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and the Czech Republic, as well as against a European team made up of players from smaller nations and a North American under-23 team.
It's the first World Cup tournament to be played since 2004.
