Vancouver Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows will miss the remainder of the team's first-round series against the Calgary Flames.

Burrows was assisted off the ice during practice on Tuesday afternoon in Calgary. It was later revealed that Burrows suffered a rib injury.

EMTs attended to the 34-year-old in the Canucks' dressing room before he was stretchered into an ambulance.

Burrows did not play in Tuesday night's Game 4, a 3-1 Flames win.

Canucks coach Willie Desjardins downplayed the significance of the injury on Wednesday in comments to the media.

TSN Vancouver reporter Farhan Lalji quoted Desjardins saying that Burrows was out of hospital as of Tuesday night and would be flying back to Vancouver on Wednesday.
