Alphonso Davies could get his first taste of European action in Bayern Munich's Round of 16 Champions League tie against Liverpool.

The 18-year-old Canada international was one of two players Bayern added to their updated Champions League squad ahead of their first leg in two weeks at Anfield.

Davies joins 17-year-old forward Joshua Zirkzee coming into the team with Sandro Wagner, sold last week to a Chinese side, and Franck Evina, loaned to 2. Bundesliga club Holstein Kiel, removed from it.

Signed from Vancouver Whitecaps last summer before being loaned back to the MLS team, Davies has made two appearances for Bayern since officially coming into the team in January.

The first leg of the tie is set for February 19 on the Merseyside with the return leg at the Allianz Arena on March 13.

Bayern and Liverpool have not met in a competitive match since the 2001 UEFA Super Cup when the Reds were 3-2 victors. The two teams last met in a European competition in the 1981 European Cup semi-finals when Liverpool advanced on away goals in a 1-1 two-legged tie.
