Den Bosch, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Camila Giorgi of Italy captured her first career WTA title with a straight-set win over Switzerland's Belinda Bencic on Sunday in the final of the Topshelf Open.

Giorgi notched a 7-5, 6-3 victory and improved to 1-3 lifetime in finals. She was the runner-up two months ago at the Katowice Open in Poland and lost a pair of title matches last year as well.

The 35th-ranked Giorgi broke serve once in each set on Sunday and never faced a break point in her 11 service games. She took advantage of the 33rd-ranked Bencic's second serve, winning seven of those 16 points.

Bencic was also trying for her first career title. She was a finalist for the second time, previously losing to Alison Riske last fall in Tianjin.

Giorgi evened the lifetime series against Bencic at one victory apiece. Bencic won the first matchup last spring in Madrid.
