The Edmonton Oilers signed defenceman Oscar Klefbom to a seven-year contract extension worth over $29 million on Sunday.

TSN's Darren Dreger reports that the deal has an average annual value of $4.167 million per season for a total value of $29.169 milllion.

The 22-year-old Klefbom was drafted 19th overall by the Oilers in the 2011 NHL Draft.

Last season, the Karlstad, Sweden native scored two goals and added 18 assists for 20 points in 60 games.
