The Toronto Blue Jays could be interested in the services of former New York Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long.

Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News says that the Jays are one of three teams, along with the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets, who have been in contact with Long, who was dismissed last month at the end of the season by the Yankees after eight seasons with the club.

The Blue Jays' current hitting coach, Kevin Seitzer, is on a rolling contract, but the team has not given any indication that he isn't expected back for a second season with the team. Seitzer was handpicked by Jays manager John Gibbons and knows the two-time All Star from their days together with the Kansas City Royals.

If the Jays were to make a move at the position, it would mark a fourth different hitting coach in four seasons. Prior to Seitzer, Chad Mottola held the position in 2013 after Dwayne Murphy had been reassigned to first base coach after three seasons in the position.
