The Dallas Stars signed defenceman Dan Hamhuis to a two-year, $7.5 million deal.

The 33-year-old, who’s played with the Vancouver Canucks since 2010, scored three goals and added 10 assists over 58 games in an injury shortened (broken jaw) 2015-16 campaign.

This was the final season of the six-year, $27 million contract he signed with the Canucks prior to the 2010-11 season.

Hamhuis has scored 55 goals and posted 248 assists in 872 career games since being drafted 12th overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators.

He won a gold medal with Team Canada at Sochi 2014.
