Former Minnesota Twins designated-hitter and first baseman Byung Ho Park has signed with the Nexen Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization according to Yonhap News.

Park spent five seasons with the Heroes bettwen 2011-2016 before making the jump to the MLB.

The then 29-year-old signed a four-year $12 million contract with Minnesota but struggled in his limited time with the Twins.

Park played in only 62 games in the MLB hitting .191, with a .224 OBP, 12 home runs, and 24 RBI in 2016, spending most of his time with the Minnesota organization in Triple-A Rochester.

His last season in the KBO, Park hit .343, with a .436 OBP, 53 home runs, and 146 RBI and was expected by some to make an immediate impact on the Twins club.

The deal with the Heroes is reported to be worth $1.4 million and Minnesota had to agree to waive Park and the two years remaining on his contract.
