Apex Gaming will be without jungler Seo “Eve” Jun-cheol for 10 months after he was suspended by Riot Games for using an illegal scripting program in both normal and ranked games.

Scripting in League of Legends is the act of using programs that modify the processes in a game. This could include the way champions execute their moves or combos using automation, or other ways to alter the game mechanics from the norm.

Apex knew of the pending suspension since May, but an administrative error kept the ruling out of the public.

Eve began using a scripting program on a Riot-provided practice account. The account was shut down after the violations were revealed.

Eve admitted to his transgression and likely received the minimum suspension for his cooperation.

Apex sits fifth in the 2016 North American League Championship Series Summer Split standings.
