The Vancouver Canucks announced on Monday that defenceman Derrick Pouliot did not receive a qualifying offer from the team, making the 24-year-old an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Pouliot was acquired by the Canucks from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct. 3, 2017, who signed the blueliner to a one-year, $800,000 prior to last season.

A native of Estevan, Sask., Pouliot scored three goals and added 19 assists in 71 games with Vancouver.
