The Montreal Canadiens announced Monday that centre Alex Galchenyuk underwent medical testing in St. Louis on Monday after suffering a lower body injury during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings and will be out indefinitely.
Galchenyuk appeared to suffer the injury in the third period after colliding with Kings centre Anze Kopitar.
The Canadiens added that he will be further evaluated by team doctors in Montreal on Wednesday and an update will be provided later this week.
In 25 games with the Canadiens this season, Galchenyuk has nine goals and 23 points.
The Canadiens visit the Blues on Tuesday to cap off their season-long five-game road trip.
